We are currently offering half hour advice appointments to the person the appeal is about or a person with relevant authority e.g. plan nominee.  This can allow them to engage in the first steps of the ART process, while they wait for advocacy to become available. We provide 1:1 time with a Villamanta lawyer who will provide advice and guidance about what to expect, how to prepare, and your rights at the various stages. Please note: we cannot review your documents and give advice about the strengths of your case.

We have had very positive feedback from people engaging with this service, especially in the context of advocacy services being at capacity for NDIS appeals.

We strongly recommend you also contact:

  • Victoria Legal Aid. Should your appeal go to hearing, you will need legal representation.  The application process can take some time, so it is better to get started rather than be unable to access assistance. You can ask for an appointment with a Victoria Legal Aid lawyer to talk about eligibility for legal representation. The lawyer can also provide advice about your case. Advice appointments are offered after the first case conference.
  • Other Disability Advocacy Services who also do NDIS appeals work may be able to provide assistance of a different type.

  • You have 3 months from your new plan to request an internal review
  • You have 28 days from the internal review to apply to the ART
