How can I talk to the DRC?

Submissions to the Disability Royal Commission closed on December 31, 2022.

Thank you to those people who contacted Villamanta for information or support with finding their way with telling their stories to the Disability Royal Commission (DRC). Many of you shared your stories and experiences of violence, neglect, abuse, or exploitation. Some of you chose not to tell your stories and we appreciate how difficult it can be to talk about these harms.

The sharing of your personal stories will assist the DRC in delivering a final report and recommendations that may lead to important changes that will improve your situation, and also the situation of other people with disabilities who have experienced harm.

The Disability Royal Commission Final Report is due on September 29, 2023.
